Your guide to Cousine
Seychelles vacations
Just 6 miles off the west coast of Praslin island lies Cousine Island. This is the Seychelles first serious attempt at five star exclusive eco tourism and they really pulled out all the stops. Only four couples are allowed on the island at any one time ensuring the absolute privacy of guests.
The seychelles island of Cousine is perfect for those escaping on a romantic getaway. It is hard to imagine a more exclusive paradise vacation.
Cousine has just four large and beautiful French Colonial style bungalows, spread wide apart between the trees behind a perfect beach. These unpretentious and sophisticated homes from home can be rented individually or if you want all four, the entire islands effectively becomes your private property for the duration of your stay.
Cousine is home to five of the Seychelles’ bird species. The Seychelles magpie robin, had become virtually extinct before Cousine was turned into a nature reserve to protect its survival. When you come to Cousine you really are going to be staying in a place where nature is respected and reverred.
Snorkeling diving, fishing are all available, but the guided nature walks and activities organised by the conservation officer make this extra special. Guests are eagerly invited to help participate in the conservation of Cousine at whatever level suits them. This can range from nothing more demanding than a half hour of bird watching through to stripping off to the waist and helping rebuild retaining walls.
There are day excursions across the Praslin and any other island you might fancy.
